Lola Boutée

Lola Boutée, formerly known as Margaret Schrock, grew up in an Amish community in Smyrna, Maine. As a young girl she loved to dance and make her friends laugh. One day, when traveling into the city with her mother, she snuck into a small theatre and got her first taste of the talkies. Shortly thereafter, she abandoned her Amish life and took the first train out to Hollywood to follow her dreams. She got off the train and bumped into a church that was also a front to the hottest speakeasy in town. She went inside and her world was transformed upside down.  Now performing is her only way of life. Boutee still remains devout in her faith to this day, but instead of praying to God, she’ll tell you that she dances for him.
