Debbie Dagger

Debbie was born into the circus life; the love child of the bearded lady and the sword swallower. Her parents never married… mainly because one evening Debbie’s mother discovered that her lover used his talent for other purposes as well. He and an aerialist named Jimbo mysteriously went missing that summer. Debbie never could find her niche in the circus. No one seemed to understand her. Her mother made her part of her brother Nevil’s dagger throwing act but the circus life still bored her desperately. She would sit alone at night with her tiny record player listening to the voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone dreaming of a more glamorous life. When she got older the ringleader began to seduce the ginger-dagger-target with promises of stardom. Over time Debbie began to realize that these promises were all lies. The circus caravan mysteriously caught fire that fall. Debbie was only one survivor. She then took to the hills of Hollywood with a song in her heart and a promise: that nothing could stop her… nothing.
